Gary Straight-President

Mr. Straight started his business career with GE Capital in 1971 where he held successive managerial roles in field financing operations, sales development, and strategic human resources. In 1984, Mr. Straight elected to pursue a career in executive search and joined a boutique recruiting firm in the Northeast that specialized in the areas of consumer/commercial lending, investment banking, and mortgage securities.

In 1988 Straight & Company was founded on the basic principle that executive search is based on building company relationships, not search specific activities. By using his extensive network of industry contacts, Mr. Straight enhanced his knowledge in related industries and now specializes in retained search services for customer care operations, risk management, financial services, and the new and emerging field of business process outsourcing. Mr. Straight has completed senior level searches for many of America’s premier services companies including GE Capital, Fleet Mortgage, Equifax Risk Management, SPS Payment Systems, Whirlpool Financial, First Boston, Stream International, Visa International, Sitel Corporation, and United Health Group/Uniprise.

Mr. Straight holds a BA from Central Washington University. He attended Pepperdine University’s Executive MBA program and is a 1982 graduate of GE Company’s highly regarded Business Management Course.


Carla Herron-Vice President Research

Ms. Herron joined Straight & Company in 2000 as VP Research and Recruiting. She began her career in 1992 with Dunhill Staffing Systems in Indianapolis where she managed one of Dunhill’s most productive and profitable offices nationwide. In 1996, Ms. Herron joined Atlanta-based QWIZ HR testing and training software company as an account manager. In this role, she won prestigious national accounts including American Express, Discover Card, Citibank and Prudential Insurance. In 1998 Ms. Herron became a physician recruiter for Medical Doctor Associates, managing the Southwest market.

Ms. Herron holds a BS in Marketing from Indiana University’s School of Business and has completed numerous Internet-based recruiting and training programs.
